At manyos, we don’t just build integrations – we listen. In recent conversations with our customers, we received valuable feedback on how to simplify daily work and increase transparency when managing interfaces within SMILEconnect. As always, we took your ideas to heart – and turned them into features.

Here’s a roundup of what’s new in SMILEconnect 🚀

⚙️ Script Endpoints – Custom Logic at Your Fingertips

You asked for more flexibility – and we delivered.

SMILEconnect now allows you to define custom API endpoints that execute JavaScript scripts directly. This opens up entirely new possibilities:

• Automate complex workflows.

• Validate and transform incoming data.

• Trigger internal BMC processes.

• Return tailored responses and status codes.

Need an endpoint that creates any data, updates a record, or routes incoming data based on business logic? Now you can build that in minutes, right inside the SMILEconnect client – no external middleware required.

âś… Script endpoints support:

• Access to request data via requestData

• Full control over the response with customResponse.data and customResponse.code

• OpenAPI auto-documentation

Example use case: Create a webhook that receives an alert, triggers a JavaScript-based decision tree, and opens an Incident in BMC Helix ITSM – with just one API call.

🔍 See Your Scripts in Context

Working across multiple clients or endpoints? Now, things just got a whole lot easier.

From now on, the SMILEconnect shows you which scripts are used per client – with direct links to each script. We’ll also check if all referenced scripts exist. That means:

• Immediate visibility.

• Faster decision-making during migration.

• One-click access to view or update your logic.

This small enhancement saves a lot of time, especially in environments with many integrations, shared workflow or frequent updates.

🧾 Manual OpenAPI Descriptions

Sometimes, you want to add your own explanation for an endpoint – especially for external partners or in-house developers.

Now, you can add manual OpenAPI descriptions for each client, providing richer context and better understanding. These descriptions are automatically included in the OpenAPI documentation visible to users.

Clarity and documentation – all in one place.

đź”— External Documentation Links per Client

You’ve got Confluence, Jira, Notion, or internal wikis? Great.

You can now add a custom link to external documentation per client. This allows users to jump directly from SMILEconnect to the right place in your internal documentation – no searching, no guessing.

Example: Want users to review the interface specs in Confluence? Just link it once – and make it accessible for everyone working with the client.

đź’¬ Real Feedback, Real Improvements

All of these features stem directly from conversations with users like you. SMILEconnect is evolving not just as a product, but as a partner in simplifying your integration landscape.

If you have suggestions, questions, or use cases you’d like to explore – our door is always open. We build for you, with you.
