Its now easier then ever before to access data in BMC Remedys ITSM Suite. Our open source javascript client allows you to create tickets or access configuration items directly from your application.
We’ve been working hard to bring you some great new features to our BMC Remedy & ITSM REST API.
We already had an impersonate feature in our API. It allowed to define whether a client should connect to Remedy ITSM with with the global credentials of the API Framework or with its own credentials.
With version 1.40.0 we now also allow dynamic impersonation. If enabled for a client, the URL query parameter impersonateUser will be used. e.g. /v1/incidents?impersonateUser=abc123
This feature can be especially useful if you need to connect a system with end-user access to your ITSM Suite. This could be e.g. your webshop. All actions in ITSM will then be executed as if the user itself would take them.

We’ve been working hard to bring you some great new features to our BMC Remedy & ITSM monitoring solution.
Besides licenses and record counts you can now also use the value of record fields as metrics. This allows you to:
Use arbitrary numerical values from your Remedy system as metric
Generate metric data with all the tools you like (i.e. Atrium Integrator)
Import data from external sources and show it together with your existing metrics
Need some inspiration how to use it?
Read data from partner systems and monitor the status. E.g. Connect to BMC Discovery (ADDM) and monitor discovery runs
Combine the data from multiple forms with Atrium Integrator and use the result as metric
Monitor the minute counter of service level targets
When you create a new metric we do now check if the give Form exists and if the provided query can be executed. This makes sure that you can only create metrics that actually work.
